Dr. Greg Story first came to Japan on April 1, 1979 as a Monbusho Scholar to study Japanese at Sophia University (Jōchi University) in Tokyo. After completing his Master’s degree in Comparative Culture in 1983, he returned for doctoral fieldwork as a Japan Foundation Fellow (1984–85), later completing his Ph.D. at Griffith University in Brisbane in 1990, with research on Japanese decision-making.
